I hope you didn't miss me too much. However, a post from Jen makes up for 7 days of no posts from me!
Things at the Ireland house are going well. I just changed the dressings on Jen's incision and it is doing well. My guess is that this time next week we won't be packing it with guaze anymore. It has been nice to see her moving around the house freely and relatively pain-free. She still has strict instructions to not exert herself too much and to not lift the girls. I have caught her picking up Peighton and squeezing her a time or two, but don't tell anyone. Emma has just grown too much for Jen to get away with a sneaky hug.
Both girls are doing well and growing quickly. Peighton's main method of transportation is now her feet. It is pretty funny to watch her try to keep up with Emma. Her balance just isn't enough to prevent some pretty hard crashes onto her booty. Emma loves it that her sister is almost big enough to play and run around with. Their colds (including Jen's) are doing much better, but you'll still see a kleenex box in every room due to a random sneeze or runny nose.
Alexis is a welcome sight at our door every morning. The morning routine and breakfast are enough to wear me out...top it off with 10 phone calls for work and a dozen e-mails and I'm counting down the minutes for her to arrive. The girls love her. Emma even cries when she leaves in the afternoon/evening if we don't distract her with a bribe of ice cream or something. Today they visited Tunnel Town in Lee's Summit and had a great time. Tomorrow maybe a swim if the storms will go away.
