« Many are wondering... | Main | Happy Birthday to Jen... »

chris, that was a wonderful article and it speaks to the magnitude of your generosity that after all your expenses are paid that you want to help other families with expenses so many other people do not tend to think of. You are making Jen proud that I am sure of! Take care of you and your girls. Jennie

Wow-that was a great article. Thanks for sharing. I still remain amazed at your strength. You are an amazing representation of faith and love. God has big plans for you and the girls. I continue checking in to just make sure things are okay. It gives me a peace to stop by and it has become part of my everyday routine. The foundation is an amazing idea and will truly touch so many lives when they are in need. Keep up the good work and know many people are praying for your family.

That was such a wonderful article. It seemed to really represent you and your entire family! I am so glad that that entry mentioned in the article was not the last one! What a testament to your love for your wife and your daughters! Sending many blessings your way! Lisa K

I just wanted to tell you that your family has and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers every day. My sister-in-law died of colon cancer when she was 30 years old. My neice was 3. I watched as her family struggled through the times that followed her death and my heart aches for you and the girls. I pray that you continue to find strength in God when times get the hardest. Thank you so much for sharing Jennifer's story with everyone, you have touched more people than you can possibly understand.

I enjoyed the article very much! Your experience has taught me to laugh louder, hug harder, kiss longer, and just enjoy life and loved ones more than I ever have! Your beloved Jen will always be in my thoughts, my constant inspiration to be a better person. Thank you for your courage, you have given strength to more people than you will ever know! Thank you for letting us pray with you and for you. May God Bless you and your daughters!

Dear Chris, Emma, Peighton, Jan,& Family,
I want you to know how sorry I am for your loss.I thank you for sharing your story with us; it's so amazing.I don't know you personally, but I feel like I'm part of a new family; your great family. You have really inspired me through your writings. God has given you a beautiful gift of writing, and that's such a great thing. It makes a person keep coming back for more. I really hope you can continue to write and keep us informed on how things are going.
I attended the celebration of Jen's life. When I saw your family come in, I caught myself staring at your little girls. They are so precious and beautiful. They are so blessed to have such a loving and caring daddy like you. I really enjoyed hearing the stories about Jen and listening to all the music especially the music of John Mayer which fitted in perfect.
I was also glad to see the article in the newspaper this morning, and the picture of Jen which is so beautiful. I'm sure people will see this and it will touch their hearts like it has mine.
Hey,can you believe all the snow we have? That's so awesome; What a sign that is!! I know I'm a little late but tell Emma Happy Birthday and I hope she enjoyed her big day. Also a Happy Birthday to Jen in Heaven. I want you to know that you and your family will be in my prayers each and everyday. There hasn't been a day gone by where I haven't thought of you all. I send my love and prayers to you and your family.
Love in Christ, Peggy Patrick

I don't know you nor your family, but I read the article from a few months ago and it intrigued me, but with the holidays, I never got a chance to read the blogs until I saw the article yesterday. I read every blog from the beginning at work and it truly inspired me. Our family just had a very close friend who died of cancer at the age of 14. What the family or her went through I could not imagine, just as I still cant imagine how you and Jen were so courageous in how you handled things.

Your daughters are so beautiful, just like their mother. You were given someone very special who in turn gave you two someones very special. HOld them and cherish them each and every day. Please know that I will now be checking the blog periodicly. Tell Emma happy birthday, and a Happy Birthday Jen... Your belief in God and your inner strength will carry you on.

Thank you for posting this blog. I read in the Star about you and your family. I did not share this with my son and daughter-in-law because I was fearful that her upcoming surgery would be not a positive outcome. Well, the surgery told us that she too is stage 4, etc. Shawndra and Doug now have a blog for Shawndra to post her daily thoughts. I thank you for this as you paved the way for her to talk about her cancer. It breaks my heart for my son, too. Shawndra is just beginning the second round of chemo. She remains positive. Our family including hers is very close. We all work together and share our love and support to Shawndra, Doug and Baby Ella. Again, thank you for your blog. It made a difference in the life and daily living of two people you have never met. I am a school counselor. I have worked with many families who have faced crisis including cancer. I just never thought I'd be faced with this myself. May God Bless you and your beautiful children. Victoria
PS: Solace House is a great place for spouses and children to get grief support. I have recommended this to many families. If you would like more information about it, contact me at
