So far so good. At noon Alyssa, Dr. Foster and Dr. Loggie's physician assistant, gave us an update. We don't have many details but she is doing well. The main mass of the tumor seems to be fairly mobile and they have come close to removing it. No organs have been resected yet. Once the main mass is out of the way, they will have the tedious job of peeling and scraping away the residual cancer and removing necessary organs. The only thing that has been a potential issue but not addressed much prior to this was tumor being in contact with the ovaries and uterus. Alyssa said that they may need to remove at least one ovary because they tend to be a "hotspot" for cancer to flourish. If they can clean up the surfaces with satisfaction, removal won't be necessary. Alyssa has promised us updates every 2 - 3 hours.
That's the update. I'm typing from my phone at the cafeteria, but it's time to head back to the waiting room. Thanks to your prayers and Jen's resiliant body, things are going well.
Chris and Jen,
As always, my prayers are with you and it sounds like things are going well. Chris, I have to admit I was laughing about this latest update coming from your cellphone. When we went to the lake, I thought that it must be annoying to always be connected to email, etc. even when on vacation, but you've found a way to make it useful :) Thanks for keeping us all in the loop!

I am fasting and praying all day today for Jen; when I saw your blog was headed "Proceding with Plan A" I both cried and laughed with tears of thanks to God. Now just a few hrs. more and this will be history.

Keep the good news coming. I know that this has been a long and worrisome day, but the reports we are getting sound positive. Prayers are with you always. Jan, your class is doing great - we are going to have a little party Friday, hope that is OK.
God bless all of you,
Dee
