The first bit of news tonight is that Jan has a healthy heart. She is relieved and hopefully can get some restful sleep tonight. Peighton was also her old happy-go-lucky self today. It was good to see her playing hard and smiling all day. Thanks for the prayers...it looks as though they worked!
Now for some business. If you are like me, you tend to procrastinate quite often. Unfortunately a deadline is drawing near. Tomorrow, March 23rd is the day we would like to have all of the Crawl for Cancer entries completed. I'm planning on dropping them in the mail first thing Monday morning. Rachael Althaus and I sat down tonight and compiled the entries thus far and we are at least 10 teams strong. However, there are people missing from our list that I know are wanting to go. No matter if you are a individual, group of 4, or a full team of 10, sign up. Please click here to look at my post from several weeks ago for details. There is a Paypal link on the right side of this blog that you can pay for the entries. If you have any questions or would like to participate but can't get a check to us in time, e-mail Rachael at [email protected]. The Courtyard Marriott in Blue Springs has graciously offered up rooms to anyone interested for $69.00 per night if you mention Jennifer Ireland. We also have reserved transportation for around 80 people that will take us to Westport and back from Blue Springs. Tomorrow I will be speaking with a member of the Crawl for Cancer committee regarding the plan for our "special" t-shirts. I'm getting excited for what will be a blast!
Today I was part of a great meeting regarding the Kansas City premiere of the movie The Wind That Shakes the Barley. This first class, red carpet event will be Thursday May 10th and will directly benefit the Jennifer Ireland Foundation. The preliminary details are so exciting that I'll have to save them for another post in the coming days. In the meantime, Google the movie title and check out the great reviews it is getting from all over the world.

So glad to read that Grandma Jan is in good health. It is always a relief to get good news. She sure knows how to make her two little granddaughters happy - the cookies look yummy. Also happy to hear that sweet little Peighton is ok - so hard to see a little one sick. Hopefully this week will be one full of healthy people and good days.
God bless,
Dee

Chris, just a note to let you know i'm thinking of you. I'm sorry you have been feeling blue and overwhelmed at times but this is a natural form of grieving for those we have lost. I think the Lord wants us to yell, cry, question, and use these emotions He has given us to work through and heal us so we go forward with our lives in the satisfaction knowing He is there holding our hands, listening, and loving us through the rough times and bringing us a comfort that only comes with surrender. Let your emotions out as it is a natural process and know there are so many that love you and will be here for you to share the present and cherish the past.
